Hello everyone!
As you all are well aware, some days detecting are better than others. Lately I have been about ready to tear what little hair I have left on my middle-aged head completely out!
I think that if I had started to dig a lot of pull tabs today I would have broke my detector across my knee! But fear not, today was good....not great, but better than it has been in a while.
I decided to hunt a grassy area (that is dead grass now because of the drought) on a hill that overlooks the river. I have been eyeing this spot for a while and thought it would have been a good spot for a house. I was right!
It always amazes me how all traces of human activity can be completely erased in a relatively
short span of time. You would never know that people onced lived at this spot, except by what was found in the ground!
I did find quite a bit of molten lead, pieces of iron, and the usual junk but I came away with some vintage goodies too! 6 wheats 1920-D, 1927-S, 1935-D, 1942 (2) 1944......2 Buffalo's 1927-S and 1935-D and 1 merc 1943-D that cleaned up nicely, and a few relics too. Thanks for looking.
