Back to the 1800 House...did the side yard for a few hours...found a coin spill with an 1887 IH, 1944 Merc. and what looks to be a 1926 buffalo....pretty cool to see all that come out one hole! ;D :o

Also some nice Relics...buckles, US Shotgun Headstamp, Tag for a pet (I presume) with chain..says "Brandy"...ornate hinge piece..

Dentacura toothpaste tube, some big iron items, and some junk....Great time diggin'! :D

Wow, some dude or dudette was carrying some old coins even in the 1940s. I never saw such a wide range of dates in one spill. White's strikes again.

The BRANDY on a chain is a liquor decanter label.

Nice finds and that is awesome about the liquor tag. Now we know why they lost those coins :P

Nice "stuff" Looks like a good site. The item in pix between the buckle and the shotgun shell brass looks like a bible clasp. Some of the large family bible had wooden, leather bound covers. This type of clasp held the book closed. Nice find.

Thanks Les...never thought of that! All finds were from an area about 30x20...so....

Someone got a little tipsy while reading and passed out, dropping all their change. Yep, that's how it happened. ;)

Nothing on the back of the tag that I can see so far... :-\

I find quite a few metal tubes...some are beat up like this one, and some are salvagable...but not many!

The picture I posted is one from the very early 1800's. It is silver and selling for just over $200 (yes, two HUNDRED bucks) from an on-line antique shop. :o

Is yours silver?

If so, there should be a hallmark on the back. If not, it's hard to say how old. They've been making those things for a couple of centuries and you can still get them today.

Either way, its cool. Now find yourself an old bottle to hang the label on.

The Dentacura toothpaste tube is interesting.
That company, The Dentacura Co. was located at 185 Alling Street, in Newark, N. J. at the beginning of the last century. I can read part of
'Newark' on your cool find.

The top relic in your photo was used for hewing logs. The points were pounded into logs and a broadaxe would be used to square up the side of the log.
