Mortar with fossil of scallop mid to late miocene.

This item was found and left on site due to not being on private land. I did report it I guess nobody cared because I never got a call back. I walked through a 1/4 mile of poison oak to get to this site. Virtually untouched. Mortars all over in rocks. I had to scrape away moss to find them. Also only piece of sandstone in the creek. A few miles away upstream from the nearest sandstone crop. At the very least you guys get to see a cool scallop fossil.

The fossil is mid to late Miocene 2 to ten million years old it is a scallop. Also thanks Civil war. I appreciate the views and glad you like it.
