Decided to try my hand at making s simple sluice box. Had to be cheap and easy to modify. Works surprisingly well for what it is.

Scrap wood for box. Old bilge pump for water recirculation. Aluminum air duct grates for riffles. Duct tape and glue to hold riffles together. Nylon rope and clamps for tight fit. Rubber map that’s used to stop rugs from sliding.

Here isn’t my rednecked rig.
Was working the cons today and my pump died.
Two sluices laying on top of Eachother.
Held up with a old portable cot frame, cut garden hose for water supply lines lol!
Oh yea a bucket with holes cut in it for a water supply.

+2 redneck points for using old cot frame.
+5 redneck points for having an old cot frame around the house!
+1 redneck point for the double sluice stack.
+1 redneck points for creative use of a bucket with holes.
+2 redneck points for keeping buckets with holes instead of putting them in the trash bin.
+2 redneck points for thinking that cutting up the garden hose during one of the hottest summers on record seemed like a good idea.
-5 redneck points for failure to incorporate duct tape in your redneck sluice design. Redneck projects gotta have duct tape!

Over all, that's some mighty fine redneck engineering!

Roflmao!
1. At work, but they were going to toss the cot when I thought about
It as a frame
I used a hole bit and drilled the holes in the bucket
Hose was already dead under the lemon tree lol.
Duct tape might have helped reduce the backflow at first..
Didn’t have it handy.. epic fail!
Next time will have to angle it more lot of sands backed up.

Here’s my candidate. Made it out of very thin sheet metal. First attempt to make a sluice. Flimsy, but it catches some color.
