I swung by this coin shop that very often has unique things other than coins. The owner pulled this out and said what you think of this. It's made of gold and diamonds. It has a floppy eared dog with a crown. What's really special is the pull chain on the back. You pull it and the eyes and mouth of the dog open. I never had a chance to inquire about it as more customers came in and me getting a text from home asking where are you, because I'm supposed to be running by the grocery store, instead of horsing around looking at stuff like this, I didn't wait to see what he's asking for it. He's gonna want more than his 20% over spot on jewelry for it, but I might go back and see what I can get it for. Got feeling he's gonna try and get 4 or 5 times the actual weight out of this piece. He's a young fella and when he first opened I was paying around 10% over spot on his jewelry, but as time went on he got wise to me and others who know some of what he obtained is worth way over spot value. Good thing is he's still reasonable, but he does do his research more now. I just can't believe some of the things people sell him for scrap.

It looks like the dog was added to the brooch. The moving eyes on the dog is awesome. I would buy it!

Make sure the dog itself is gold. I was looking around online and Monet did a series of charms w a very similar dog (but not gold).

Sure. That's what I thought, but I asked him if it's all gold and he said yes, but maybe he was referring to the round frame, which I could see was gold. He's pretty meticulous when it comes to buying pm's.

Interesting. Here is pretty much the same thing. The one you have the chance to buy was converted into a brooch. Ebay item number 202702281518

So it looks like a very unique gold charm. I wouldn't pay what they're asking on eBay. My guess is I could get this brooch for around $450. to $500. knowing a little on how this dealer sees the value in jewelry. Still at that price I'd rather look for other things to buy and sell. I'm not a big time buyer and seller, but more of a hunter of unbelievable deals on the treasurer's out there to be found. That's what I hang on to my money for.
