:o CHECK THIS NAIL OUT :o

I was afraid to post this because you know how some people get jealous and all.

But then I decided that I shouldn't hide my great THing talents.

What do you all think fellow members of NDA (nail diggers of America)?

I plan to get this monster bronzed and mounted for my office.

So, keep hunting and don't get discouraged! ;D

Thats a big one alright. I would hang on to it until the price of iron goes up.

Sorry, but someone needs to say it...
"you nailed this one" Badger. lol

This is a whopper nail indeed,
along the property stake line almost,
a smaller cousin maybe.
Anyway, love your sense of humor sir.

Smiles!

NIce find, I think if you look at antique property stakes, you might find one
that looks like your nail. That is how they marked property way back and
I mean Way BAck. haha I have found lots of property stakes at old one
Room School houses. They aren't that small, but close to it.

How did it read on your detector????? Nail maybe?!
Vern

Well, as I recall, it came on as iron all the way.

Tesoro detectors are like the Fisher brand in that they sometimes read deep large iron as high coin or silver. As soon as you dig down a bit the signal changes to iron.

I knew this was a large iron piece before I dug it because of the size and stability of the signal.

Tone alone is almost never trustworthy on any detector.

I found one like that 4 inches deep in Playground sand......
same as they used for the timbers that form the "sand box".
