A few days ago I broke my digging tool clean off at the weld between the handle and scoop. It was a $14.00 aluminum garden trowel with teeth on one edge from Lowes. Worked great for last few month until I pried on a chunk of iron 5 inches down. But it always felt flexible and weak.

The good news is I came across some good fortune and was able to use that good luck to purchase a Lesche LS Digging Tool from Kellyco.com. I paid part of the shipping and it is shipping out to my house. I hope they are as nice as I have read. so wish me luck. Photos of it in action soon. it will look great in my new pouch by Freeloader.

I bought a garden shovel as my first digging tool, too. Reinforced the welds on it, but there's only so far you can push steel that isn't hardened. The Lesche seemed a bit short when I started using it, but it's plenty big, and virtually indestructible. I have abused the heck out of it and it barely shows any wear.

Once you use it, you are going to laugh at yourself for not getting one sooner.

Good for you, you will love it. I am a frugal person and my first five years or so detecting I used several different garden trowels to dig. I had a couple break, one bend and one that worked pretty well, but after reading about Lesche diggers here on Tnet, I decided to use my clad money to buy one. After using the Lesche once the garden trowel went back to the garden and the Lesche is my favorite digger.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I'm feeling much more comfortable with my decision to buy the Lesche.

No the Lesche cost $42.00, My post said I only had to pay part of the shipping. The rest was on a Gift Card. It only cost me a total of $5.26.
