For the past year, my wife Dianne has become quite the artist!
Under the tutelage of Master Silversmith Beverly Fox, Dianne has created dozens of beautiful pieces, including pendants, earrings, bracelets, and rings. While she has dabbled with copper and brass, most of her work is either .999 fine silver or sterling, which is .925.
Her creativity and vision to design jewelry sometimes includes natural stones, from local gem shows, to exotic examples from across the globe.
While she has sold a few pieces already, her big introduction to the masses will be this September, when she hopes to have maybe up to 100 items for sale.
The “show” will be in Garrett County Maryland, at the Art and Wine Festival, which benefits her parents animal shelter, HART For Animals.
After that, she looks to continue her art and become renowned for high quality, handcrafted silver.
Locally, Dianne and her peers are preparing to enter “The Ring of Fire”, which only 3 pieces can be submitted, and to be judged by master artisans.
The first piece, a fine silver shadow box pendant with a Lapis Lazuli bezeled inside, this was one of her earliest pieces.
The next submission, sterling silver earrings, crafted with natural Botswana Agate. A little trouble with the pics, just to show the cut out design in the back, which the color of the stone shines through.
Finally these are displayed as a set, both sterling, with pink Botswana Agate, and the pendant, is a pink Druzy, with an image of a flamingo cut out on the reverse.
I will continue to post images frequently in the months ahead, to both document her craftsmanship, and share the overwhelming pride that I have for my wife.
Your Likes and comments are welcome, if there are questions or interest in pieces that will be for sale, please PM me.
