Multi-day hunt & buttons was my frenemy! :( But I certainly was not left disappointed

I do not recall ever digging so many buttons and not getting an early marked military! ...was zero for 144 buttons! That being said, it's was an awesome 4 days hunting with a friend, who will post his finds at some point when he has the time.

The better finds from this one for me is the 3 early to mid. 1700s French Marines buttons and 1745 dated bale seal.

A real neat engraved silver button. Is oval shaped.

1796 Draped Bust large cent.

The silver kept showing for both of us, 5 for me including a 1775 2 Reales, my first ever from my regular hunting grounds. Another first...an 1822 British West Indies 1/16 dollar in nice condition coming out of a farm field. It was sure a great time, and that pretty much wraps up my Spring season. I feel I need a break anyway (not really, but that's how it goes) :)

That's an impressive haul! Nice to still be able to dig a first every now and then and that little silver is probably the first and last we'll see of that! Nice!!!

that's an unreal amount of firsts for you!
you dug some really great coins... the anchor money takes the cake!
I always had a notion we might see one, maybe ,someday, well...
and the rest is the icing! how sweet it is

I have to admit that one had me stumped. I dug it in a very unlikely spot... was chasing a few bullets and digging the odd piece of not real old trash. Out it popped, and I could see the crisp detail and anchor, and it left me scratching my head... but based on how good it was, I near just threw it in with everything else thinking it's just something 1940s foreign. Glad I didn't!

That’s variety for you.
I’m gonna set the PVR to this channel.

well I'm glad you didn't either!
ones that good can get $$$$ , stick to digging the old Spanish, those 'new' coins are just getting in your way

Man what a haul. Im jealous. The coins and buttons are all awesome but I’m eyeing up that Newfoundland vicky five cent piece up hard. I love them early Newfie coins! [emoji16]

Really surprising the military eluded you out of so many buttons...sounds some of my sites over here..Nice pile!

That was a heck of a couple of days.
That is the first ever piece of anchor money I seen posted here. Agree with IH great find. I have an old coin book here (1964) that includes those pieces with Canadian tokens. The book states "(struck in England for use in the colonies in general) These were struck mainly for circulation in the West Indies, but as many of them found their way to Canada in trade, they have been included here among Canadian tokens."
And it's in great condition too, nice find.

Nice haul!!!!!!

Never seen one of those 1822 silvers before, I like it & its in bonus condition!

Of course you have lots of other good finds.

Those are some real cool coins. By looking at the first picture it looks like you were busy digging a lot. You must be tied. Congrats on all the work and those finds.

Awesome group of finds! Wow. I see you found two harps and I've never even found one! Congrats. You got on some mighty good ground!

Killer series of hunts! :notworthy:

It was a crazy few days detecting! I’m sun burnt and can barely walk haha. It will be tough to top this trip, we will try again in July. Wish I would of walked over that Spanish silver!

You might have, if you weren't going the wrong way! :happysmiley:

That's a LOT of buttons! I'd be happy to dig one button and you dig over a hundred in just four days!? That's insane! But I do also like your other finds very much!

totally crazy button finds! you guys must have been excited on a regular basis with finds like those and then you have the wonderful awesome coins! wicked cool silver to boot! you have some rather high standards now for the next trip. I would have a hard time sleeping for wondering what I would find next!
