I stopped a a location on my way down to Virginia. Sure glad I stopped at a spot a friend recommended. I dug these four buttons from a pounded field, all within 10' of one another. When I say there were no high signals in this place I mean none...pounded to death. Also there was fill everywhere besides on fertile strip between the two fill spots. All the finds came from there. These buttons showed up as 12-20/21/22, all of them. The other finds for the day was a big ol to bad button, a musketball, and some small buckles.

I posted them earlier on another post and found out they were GW's. Here were all of my finds.

The heraldic eagle with 6 point estoile and square punch border is the variety. The best part is they all have their shanks.

I'm over the moon. I texted Ahab, Bill D, and Vino and all confirm. Wow.
Thanks SwingBeepDig for the spot. I owe you buddy!

Sorry for the not so good pics. I'm on the road in a hotel room in Virginia.

Enjoy!

Steve

Why isn't that scrolling across the top yet? Outstanding find! Good luck, and I'll keep checking the top for it. Banner vote from me.

I personally liked your cob and bust silver hunt better but I don't see any reason why four rare buttons in one hunt shouldn't make banner

Thx GaReb for the vote. If it's worthy I'm sure it'll make it up there eventually.

? I can say that cob and bust silver hunt was a hunt to remember but that one didn't make banner.

I'll just stick to finding things. Lol

A whole set of GW buttons is definitely worthy! Great job on the cleaning\preservation. Wish I could vote again.

Not 1, but 4. Just amazing.
Surprised this one hasn't gone banner. You got my vote.

I think some people say banner but don't realize it's an actual submission! Lol

Thanks for da vote Bonepicker. Im glad the post inspired you to dig lows. I've found a KG2 at a low IHP signal. A cob sounded like a zincoln. Hell, once I found a seated half/nickel/seated dime sandwich beneath a pure junk signal. Dig 'em all brother!

Just gotta learn to read my Ace 350 a bit better :) Did you use the Minelab CTX you have listed? Just curious what machine you use to find artifacts.

I use the CTX 97% of the time. The other 3% is the Teknetics T2. Reason being the T2 is better suited for disturbed ground and will find the smallest pieces DEEP DEEP in clean ground. It is also better for relics IMHO. But in northern NJ and the trashy ground it holds, the CTX dominates and has become an extension of my arm.

A good friend uses the 350 with excellent results. Keep at it brother.
