looking to find info on the rumor or fact that to gold coins where found here and if anyone knows who the person was any info would be great thanks

Beach renourishment notwithstanding, the Grand Strand area of South Carolina, is, IMHO, one of the more likely areas in the state to find shipwreck items on the beach. Why? In some places depths of 18 feet are carried to within a few hundred yards of shore. This is quite unusual for South Carolina. Contrast this with, say, Hunting Island, where 18 foot depths are found 5 MILES from shore. There may be a pile of Galleons which drew 18 feet piled up off Hunting Island, but non-buoyant items will never make it to shore---it is simply too far out.

Hurricane storm surge could mitigate against this somewhat, but the general idea remains the same.

If you are serious about finding shipwreck items in that area, hit the stable beaches in the southern Grand Strand that are not being renourished. Hit them when the beaches cut after storms or high surf. Hit them with a pulse or a BBS in pinpoint and dig everything.

There are MANY potential wrecks in that area. I highly recommend this book, it is right in your wheelhouse:
Shipwrecks, pirates and privateers.jpg You may be able to find it in a local library.
