Mutant Spiriferid?

Found this spiriferid a couple days ago:

This brach is whole except for a bit of damage on the anterior end.? Note that it's asymmetrical on the length axis, which is in total violation of brachiopod morphology.? I'm a bit baffled by this one!

Occasionally I see this on large delicate brachs. I just write it off as it was deformed during preservation.
