MY 2nd Barber Q & my 2nd IH for the year + more - Video added.

Today when I got home from the night job I wasn't feeling up to going out scouting around but I'm sure glad I did!!!! I bought a new HD video camera and was anxious to get out and try it. I was only out for 2 1/2 hours before it felt like I was under a magnifying glass so I cut it short but I'm going back Sunday morning with Silvergurl.

The Barber is my oldest silver coin yet and I'm on cloud 9 with it - even though its super worn (maybe someones good luck coin as it was found on the river bank). :icon_pirat:

WOW! I was really wishing to find a barber quarter today, but it was not to be. One of these days I'll get one of those beauties. Congrats on a great hunt, and even better finds!!

It will be interesting to see if the HD quality version of your video is available right away or if they process that too. I'm sure the video itself will be sweet too :)

Thanks guys, I got a Sony "Webie", its a lower end cam used for like youtube videos but it took awesome video shots. It can shoot in 1080p 720p or standard cam and it does both 16:9 & 4:3 (widescreen and standard) and it shoots 5mp pix. Bestbuy has them for $200, on-line orders only and it has free shipping. I figured I better just get a cheaper cam as my other one is getting messed up from all the dirt and crud out in the woods. Hopefully it will load soon.

Congrats on the cool finds. That Barber qtr is worn but still awesome. Now you need to break into the 1800's with silver.

Awesome hunt and great video. I am surprised at how shallow some of those coins were. At a couple of places I have hunted next to rivers which typically flood every 5 years or so, the 1980s clad is at 6 inches. Look forward to see what you find on Sunday.

Wow TF! You better keep that place under wraps for a while... looks like you have quite a bit of area to search. Great video, but you still need some water for those coins man. My 3.5yr/o son was watching you rub some of those coins and he was like, "he's scratching them"... his words, not mine! Yeah yeah, coin police. Something you could do one handed on video is drop the coin in a little pill bottle of water and shake it, then pull out the washed coin.

Fiend,
Beautiful video -- your new camera rocks!

I have to agree with Brett's son though, sorry. When I found my Barber Dime the other day, it was so coated with dirt that I could only partially see the wreath -- I knew it was good, but couldn't tell if I had a Barber or Seated. I had to use every ounce of will not to rub -- I didn't have water. Put it in my pack, but the suspense was killing me and is partially why I cut my hunt short that day.

Fiend that cartage tag rocks! Thanks for another great video and go ahead and rub 'em, unless you're the only guy digging coins that are going to be tagged as "non-dug" when they get graded MS-65 and slabbed....

I've been looking at those small handheld cameras for a while now. So far I have nailed it down to the Flip Ultra or Mino HD. Just haven't made the decision yet. I'll take at look at the Sony too. Thanks Fiend.
