Another Lowbatts moment.
Took Skates and Watercolor for a walkabout today. Sorry guys but I haven't been out there yet this year either so the bearings were a bit off. Glad we finally got to the spot we were looking for, even if it was near quiting time for me.

Remember to soak and wash them duds, the ticks were present when I got home so everything is getting sterilized right now. Yep, them were 14k glasses Mark and the porno dvd, well I think I know what's on it so it's been filed already in the kitchen can.

When I got home, I poured the remaining water out of my duck
boots. . . my white socks were brown. . . matching the color
of the brown leather uppers. I have to admit though, the water in
my boots did keep my feet cooler for the last 2-miles

This hunt was worth the price of admission. At least we know
no one will ever hunt that place except us :D

Hello
Did not find a thing... I did however lose $140.00 pair of prescription glasses, threw my socks out the window on the way home and learned how "not to park" in the parking lot. ;D

That's an important first lesson to learn for detecting in Chicago-land forests. I tried to explain the term 'backer inner' to my wife once, but she just calls them 'Butt people.' Sorry about the glasses. Did you throw the socks at any of the gentleman suitors in the parking lot?

Me and Stillookin (another TEXAN working up here with me) were hunting a FP last week when a cop showed up. We talked a few minutes about the skeeters and the heat. He said the other FP was even worse with skeeters and I said yeah and the mushroom hunters. He said "so is that what you call em," I said yeah, and he said he hadnt ever heard of that phrase but liked it. LOL. TMAN...

Your great at finding those type of places to hunt.
I remember one of those hikes this spring, all I
found was a 64 jefferson, enjoyed the conversation.

I enjoy any hunt with 'Batts'. Some of the stuff we talk about are probably more valuable than the finds. Some excellent spots and knowledge of history. :notworthy:

I have to admit, that was a very cool site.

When I got back home, I started looking at the historic aerials
and that site, back then, had a lot to offer the "common folk"
for a weekender get-a-way. . . camping, fishing, hunting, or
whatever was the norm of the day :)

I'd love to get back there this fall when the veg tones down.

Nice pic Mark!
That spot in that hayfield is almost exactly where a farm house stood if the 1861 map is right. I know Dan knows where that's at. Might be a better spot for swinging once they cut that hay!

Hopefully I'll get out there again and find them glasses John!

Hello
LOL......... It ain't no biggy... Its not the first pair I've lost. I would rather you keep finding spots to go to. As always, thanks for the invites :icon_thumright:. .
I'm trying to find a place to go and as soon as I find something, I will let you know. It's not so easy for me yet to know where to go, but, I'm trying. :read2:
Was out at marinedads home and some parks near him. Found some change nothing to write about. still learning the MXT.
I'm going to keep the detector with me at all times now and if I see a park with wood chips, I'm gonna walk out and swing. Still have to find my 1st silver. skates
