These are in pretty darn good shape, and oldies too

I am always hoping for buttons...but lately I am enjoying digging up buckles more and more :)

I'd love to see everyone else's colonial or old military buckles if you have any to share?!

Here are some of mine

The single buckle is of Spanish origin, date range 1720-1760 according to John Powell of the on-line Spanish Artifact Museum who now owns that buckle.

Wess, Don I can't hang with you guys . :-\ I have a few but none that pretty. HH ;)

I know the large round one is not really a buckle but I just threw it in to take up space. The round one that is missing about a third of it was pretty heart breaking to see it was not intact. I dug it on a 1793 battle field but I have not been able to ID it.

Those look great to me! :) That round one does look very cool! I'll check out my books. Can't tell what the design is though from what is left. Bummer!

Nice finds wess-

for some reason - now that I think about it - buckles are not a plentiful find for me -

glad someone finds them though!
