That is one sweet coin... I been staring at this coin a few mins now an notice what looks to be a die crack in both the obverse going from the end of the 6 clock wise up into the stars an reverse sides going from the U in United to a lil passed the D.. also looks to me as tho the stars are double die or stamped also the T inLiberty is double as you can see the first T pointed ends under the 2nd T... Don't know the variety or value of ths coin but it has to be worth a few hundred at the very least.. Hopefully a coin collecter can give you more insight as I'm only a beginner...

I have bought 2 of the 1806 halves in the last month, very cool. Yours is in f12 condition(fine), with the scratches on the rear detracting from the price. Still a coin I would have no problem paying $240 for anytime, so nice find. There are almost 30 varieties that year, this one is more common so no increase in value for the variety.

Congrats...Ryan

Thanks for looking. I found this on December 30th of 2007 around 1:30 in the afternoon. When I couldn't
find it in any coin books I started to get excited. I took it to Harry Tileston who has a Numismatic Appraisal
Service, he thought I might have a unknown variety. Harry had me email a picture of it to a friend of his
in the Bust Nut Club, Bradley Karoleff. Bradley identified it as a Overton 116 R3. Not as rare as I hoped it
would be. Harry graded it as fine to very fine and appraised it between $400.00 and $940.00. I will never
forget what it felt like to find this coin. This is the best hobby in the world. I have it entered in W&E treasures
best finds, I don't know if it will make the cut, hope so.

Great find. I would definitely go back and hunt that site again. There may be more where that came from. Great job..Congrats.

Nice find. Looks like I have the same die crack on my 1806. Got this one from my Grandmother about 20 years ago.
