Congratulations on a very productive year! I have been detecting for 26 years and still haven't found a half dime yet :icon_scratch:

Man, I guess I should've been digging more in 2011. :D

These are some killer finds. The Capped is a beautiful coin. The two Counterfeit 8's are crazy--and especially since you got one this year too! I think the real star finds are the capped and the Droop Wing Button. That button could be restored, if you ever decided to have that done.

Congratulations on a spectacular year.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

nice John Breckinridge Campaign tintype pic Token!! ( i was lucky to find a 1860 John bell tintype last year ) nice cap and other sweet relics!!!! best of hunting, MR TUFF

awesome year, some super recoveries!

Looks like a great year to me HB. The old Kentucky homes were very good to you in 2011. Excellent buttons and coins. Good luck in 2012, Quindy.

That surprises me Steve. I know they are hard to find, Somehow I've managed 2, one Seated and one Capped. You will find yours this year I'll bet.
Thanks for your reply,
HB

Who restores buttons, and would it be worth it?

Thanks GFE, you had agreat year as well

Quindy, yes the homesites where good to me last year. All of those coins came from the early part of the year, wish I had hunted more in the summer months but time didn't allow it. 2 coins so far this year and I'm on a mission to find more.
Good luck to you and the boys this year.

Enjoyed each post. Awesome job HIllbilly!

For some reason the ARH forum is down right now, but the person who restores these is Roland Frodigh, and he is a miracle worker with any piece of brass that needs restoration or reconstruction. Once the site is back up, I'll post a link here to Hallowed Ground Restorations. You could message or e-mail him and ask him what it might cost, and then decide from there. I know the button is worth it, it's just up to you on how much you are interested in fixing it.

You should look at some of his restorations on the page. It is incredible what he has been able to do with buttons, spurs, and belt plates.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

For some reason the ARH forum is down right now

Hate to say it but the ARH forum is down for good. I registered 3 days ago and at the top of their page it said we are closing this site down for good. I PM'd Roland but have not heard back from him. I couldn't find an email address for him so hopefully he will answer my PM, I gave him my email address so he could reply if the site shut down before he could answer me.

That is a realy shame about the ARH forum. Some Incredible relics posted there, and the quality, on average, was so much better than here. As far as Roland goes, E-mail him directly. Check your regular e-mail.
