My daughters birthday and her new Ace 250

Yesterday I gave my 5 year old daughter an Ace 250 for her birthday. I took all the stock decals off and put princess decals on it. I spray painted and clear coated her Cez-tec pinpointer pink. Put princess iron on patches on her apron. Got her a American princess book bag to put all her gear in. I took a handful of change and threw it up in the air for her to find real quick (we had to eat cake). Her total for the day was $1.83 in clad.($40 sumthing in Birthday money).
On another note,,,,do they make a smaller shaft for this machine? Where can I get a cheap one so I can cut it down for her.

My daughter just turned 7 on Monday. She has a detector but gets bored fast so she does not go that often with me. Although she is turning into a little fossil hunter which is something I never really got into. I'm going to take her this weekend to hunt a river.

By the way my daughter loved Princesses two years ago now she is 'too big' for them...has given all her Princess stuff away. I assume one of her friends must have said that princesses are for little girls because it happened overnight. You have to love kids...

Great job.

You can probably cut down the shaft with a hack saw and drill new holes for the connector. You will have to purchase another shaft when she gets bigger, but you are trying to buy one anyway. This would be the quickest way to get her swinging with something comfortable.

My daughter is 8 and she likes to go to playgrounds with me. She detects for a while and then plays. It is a win/win for both of us. My youngest is 5 and she wants her own detector now.

I agree with Fathead (that's quite a handle BTW) Gear her up right away in comfort. A new or used lower shaft in the future won't cost very much. Alternatively you could just put the lower shaft beside the upper and wrap it with pink tape. Even with a few inches cut off it will still be long enough for most.

Im glad she likes it,,,She was soo cute when she was out in the back yard hunting coins,,,we just need to make it shorter,,,but then agian that means we cant use it lol (you did such a good job putting it altogether)
