I found this last January in Middle Tennessee along with some buttons, bullets, and other various relics of a Civil War camp. It is the sawed off end of a double barrel shotgun that has a large bullet ding in one of the barrels. I'm sure it was hit in the heat of some skirmish or battle in Middle Tennessee. It was obviously sawed off to make the shotgun useful in both barrels again.

Thanks, Rammjager. It was definately a cavalry camp. I found a "Bullseye" rosette. A U.S. "Bit Boss", brass carbine casings, horseshoes, harness rings and so forth.

Hello,
I just bought a side plate from a CSA cavalry two barreled shotgun
found at Brandy Station - I'm emotioned !
It comes uncleaned so think it would be better to let it just as it is.
Would you clean yours ?
Regards,
Mike

Not sure Rammjaeger. I'm going to talk to a couple of relic dealers and get their opinion. Do you have a photo of the sideplate? I'd love to see it.

OK - As soon as possible I will take a Pic of this relic.
It was found only the left side, but not the right side .
Mechanism of the trigger is also present.
