Hello all.

I'm a long-time lurker on this forum, but finally decided to make an account today. I've been CRHing for about 6 years now, mainly pennies, but I had never bought a box until now. My first box of nickels was certainly special! It contained my first ever Buffalo, an ender at that! It's a 1936-D, and certainly has seen better days, but I'm beyond thrilled to have found one. :hello2:

I also got a decent amount of good Jeffersons too, including a 1950 (Not a D sadly).

On that same note, the amount of 1964s I found was preposterous. I had a good 50 or so in the box. Either way, I had an absolute blast searching through these. Happy Hunting!

1964 is extremely common even nowadays because of the amount that were minted that year. (Over 2 billion) The buffalo ender is really cool. Never found an ender but I once bought a few loose mwr and one of the rolls had 6 buffaloes in it; including a 1929-S. Keep an eye out for the 50-D even if you think you won't find it. I found my only one I own accidently. I say accidently because I usually just flip nickels over to the Monticello side to look for war nick mintmarks but I randomly chose to flip over this semi worn one and to my shock was the ol' 50-D. Nickels are a great source of varities and foreign stuff. Best of luck! ~~Pt78~~

DO NOT OVERLOOK THE lowly '64 with no MM. I just got one with a huge die crack, got one last year with a biga$$ CUD, and just sold a MS with full steps & mint luster for $4.29. even crappy years can be good scores. nickels, much like "feets" will never fail you (an old movie line) HH & wash your hands:--)

Thanks you two. I found a few pretty nice Jeffersons in the mix. One of the 1964's I found had an absolutely beautiful luster to it. Full steps, amazing shine. A few of the others had great detail too. I kept an eye out for cuds and major errors, but overall I didn't really look to hard. Varieties have never been my thing, I guess. I love me some foreign coins, though, so I'm hoping I can find one or two in the next box. Best of luck in your own searches!

Boxes are fun to search! Congrats on your first box finds. Looks like you had some leap year luck. I hope your next good box doesn't take 4 years to get to you.
