Hello everyone hope you have all been out swinging
And digging up good stuff I see some are killing it
Me I only get them one at a time.
Spent 2 hours at a local site a old British fort
Been hunted to death but I always seem to manage one today was better than that
I was skunked all day sun was setting I was on my way out still swinging but heading to car
Bam a solid 89 on my gamma 6000
Thinking quarter it was at 3 inches out pops a copper I'm like nice I put it away not even wiping it
Get home I see s cap I'm like $&@& yea it is. 179? Waiting for advice on cleaning
Thanks for reading hh gl image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Very nice!! Congrats.

I would probably only use a dry toothbrush on that one. Looks like it could flake real bad if you get too aggressive with it.

I would be happy with that one and I am not sure I would do any experimental cleaning but some minimal brushing.

Awesome score ECW. :occasion14: I dream of someday getting into the 1700's club. I bet you did a little happy dance once you pulled that out of the hole. :headbang: I had the occasion to happy dance twice this past weekend. :hello2:

Charlie. Congrats on a nice coin, especially after your day. I would stop cleaning it and leave it be for a little while. Let's meet on Thursday as planned and I'll take a look in person. Then let's go find the rest of them! Lol

Great find.
Definitely lib cap.
What I can tell you is to take a toothpick and gently with the side of it, and start to go in circles by the date to start.
As of right now you know its a cap. But no date and nothing else. So you got to see if anything is there..lol
What ever you do dont put water on it..
Good luck.
Oh ps, dont trust Steve!!! He will pull out the sandpaper. .lol
