Lately I've been learning my new CTX and it has been a struggle-switching from the AT Pro is like learning a new language. I revisited a site that was a town from the 1760s through the 1830s, and a subdivision was built on top of it in the 1960s. It's a low income rental home neighborhood so the yards are loaded with trash but I have located a couple of home sites from the original town.
Finds with the CTX have been few and far between but I did manage to find a complete brass shoe buckle and a shingle hatchet head; I guess the signals were so good I couldn't miss them
I have found plenty of shoe buckle frame pieces and one whole frame with the mechanism rusted out before but this was my first complete shoe buckle. When I cleaned it I discovered that is has a really nice dark green patina
I think the hatchet head is period, but I'm not sure-any thoughts on that?
Well hopefully as I get more hours on the CTX I'll find more relics. I wish there was a Rosetta Stone CD for learning that language
