Billb that looks like a nice little ring. Congratulations on your first diamond ring. I have an Excalibur 1000 and a CZ21. Both are good machines. Personally I prefer the CZ for most hunts. I use the Excal to redo yards and pick up things I miss with the CZ. From the fact that you mentioned a scoop I presume you were detecting in the water or on the beach. I have started using an ATPro for water hunts because it picks up the smaller pieces of gold jewelry real well.
Billb I forgot to mention that the ATPro does not do well in salt water environments. I’m not sure where you found your ring, beach, water, fresh or salt. I do all my water detecting in fresh water.
To see what I mean about the small gold with the ATPro, check out my post from September 23 “lots and lots of small silver and gold from the camp beach”. Keep swingin.
Congratulations, that is a nice find! I have a CZ21 works great found a lot of rings with it. Just bought a Excalibur II trying to get use to it. I have done a few mods to it with the help from OBN. I didn't think there was that much difference in depth between the two when I first got the Ecal. but with the mods. I would have to say it seems to be the better of the two. Still love the CZ don't get me wrong and wont get rid of it. But now my go to detector is the Excalibur II. Easy to modify yourself if you have any electronic experience. Happy Hunting and again great find, you will find many more I promise as long as you keep looking!
