Way to go, gotta start somewhere. At least it wasn't a pull tab. Keep up the good work and look forward to your future finds..

Minelabs are fine machines but I've owned Whites for 20 years and probably always will own them. My brother really has been giving me some hard competition with his Minelab SE this year. When I was reading about them when they first came out I kinda wondered if I ought to buy one but I've got a lot of money tied up in both my newer whites(MXT and the Beach Hunter I.D.)

Congratulations on the wheat penny! My first find was a Moxie cap. But later on that day I found a 1927 Liberty dime and a 1893 V Nickel. I thought every day would be so productive, but it turns out I mostly find old nails. The treasures among them make the nails worthwhile.

If you need any nails to go with that hammer, let me know. HH!

My first find was a clad penny that had been eaten unrecognizable by the elements. I say GOOD JOB. Wheats are tough out here!

Welcome Jimbob!

Congrats on your new machine, hope you have as much fun with it as I'm having with my new Ace 250! What a great first hunt! On my first hunt, I found a paperclip, some rusty nails, some gum wrappers, a ratty piece of wire, and the bitter end of an old sewer line :D It's been a couple of months now, and I still haven't found a wheatie, but I'm still having a blast looking. Here's hoping your excellent luck continues!

Happy Hunting from a fellow Pacific N.W.'er -

Mine was a memorial penny in my yard...then it was several pieces of aluminum siding. Have fun, can't wait to see your future finds.
