Spent my very first magnet fishing half hour at a local fishing spot, and caught more than I expected.

No treasure though - bottle caps; a hair band; a broken fishing lure; a pocket knife in pieces; a large steel pipe (probably a part of this floating pier, thrown in the lake by some idiot); a landing net. And the star find: a folding chair.

This was fun, will definitely do this a lot this summer. Probably a good thing getting trash out of the lake too.

Also, a guy came over to ask what I was doing - he was checking on fishing licenses but we agreed I did not need one. :laughing7:

What size magnet are you using? Pretty neat finds.

It's a neodymium magnet, 63mm (~2.5") in diameter, rated at 110kg (~240lb).

Surprisingly strong, though I must have been lucky on the steel pipe, the magnet caught it almost dead center.

Dude I would clean that blade up and then go hunt down a shed antler out in the bush or see if any mates have a piece of old antler laying around. Then make a nice little folder out of it,

Congrats on your finds though, what area are you fishing in?
