well sorry for no pics yet i am going to post them later today but i was just so excited i had to tell everyone. so i stopped at this park i never have before, and i hit the tot lot found myself about $4.00 in clad the first 45 minutes and of course the pulltabs and tin foil. so i was just doing my final sweep of the area, i was getting a little distracted and pissed off because there where these 2 kids maybe 10 or 11 years old throwing acorns at me. :D we detectorist get no damn respect i tell ya. :-\ any way right under the slide i get a reading at only 1 inch of a nickle or pulltab reading and i moved the bark aside to check it out and at first i thought oh its just another Reese's peanut butter wrapper and then i picked it up. well it was a gold earring with 6 round cut diamonds and 6 long cut i guess there called and big citron stone in the middle. i had my neighbor who is a geologist look at it and he confirmed they are real and very good cuts. value unknown and carat unknown that's where i am heading now to the jeweler to get it appraised. its been a good day. ;D i will post pictures later.

p.s. well as promised here are the pics sorry they didnt come out that great i didnt have very good lighting at the time.

Nice looking ring. Great find for anywhere. Did the jeweler you took it to offer to buy it? Sometimes, there are jewelers out there that will take advantage of a person who brings in a piece of jewelry and want to know what it is. Not very many like this thank goodness but there are a few. The tip off is that they give you a low value and offer to buy it. If they just helped you out with their diamond tester and gave you the results - no charge, you can most likely believe that it is a CZ ring or at least not diamonds. One thing that is strange is that a company would put CZs in a 14kt ring. Most times, cheap stones go in either 10kt, GF, or gold over Sterling. Before you go and remove the stones, have someone else confirm that the stones are CZs. They may not be diamonds but they could still be gemstones - Citrine, sapphire, etc. Just make sure before you start your "brick."

Way to go Joe!!! You deserve a nice find after all the cr-p you've been through lately. ;D Very nice piece of bling. Are you going to pawn it in one of Reno's many pawn shops, then hit the casinos? ;)
Congrats,
MM
