Thats a great date! Congrats to ya. Also congrats on the Barber half ya nabbed a few weeks back. I would just do the peroxide bath on the indian and leave her be. Looks to be in great condition under the crud. Go get some more. Jim

Nice digs....that Indian is a beauty....some guys talk about stickin coppers in a potato??...never tried it myself...might pay to try it on a less impressive coin first.

Interesting finds. Congrats on the IH. Beats my oldest by 15 years, a canadian quarter.

I have a 1910 wheat that had crud on it, I soaked it in olive oil for about 7 weeks and it came off,
heard about the potato thing, would experiment on wheats first.

Good luck,
HH.

Great score on the Indian  I would say peroxide too and lightly work on it with a toothpick but not too hard. it's in excellent shape and I'd say that it wasn't in circulation very long before it was lost. All the finds were great, that cross is gold filled I'm sure and I'd be looking for a refill for it. Them Cross pens ain't cheap.

I soak mine in Olive Oil as well. Sometimes they take months to clean up. Sometimes they don't take long at all. Sometimes it never gets it all off.

But that coin looks great in the condition its in. I honestly wouldn't clean it all. Cleaning with most products or any kind of scrubbing can significantly degrade the value.

P.S. Again...beautiful coin.
