My first outing: October 22

Hello all,
My first outing with a metal detector and scoop at a beach will be held in Galveston on 10-22-2011. I am a novice par none, but love reading your posts. I generally CRH, but I will be happy with any "clad" I find.

I love beaches, but live so far away that I can only hit them once in a blue moon. Got the scoop last week for the outing. Not a fancy one mind you, but one that will do the job for the "short haul." I can't tell you how funny it is now hitting the beach with a detector and a mini-shovel. Not so good.

Wish me luck! I have only found one gold ring (at a park) that had a fake diamond. Nonetheless, it was 14k (had it tested).

Good Luck, Remember Beachand Shallow water also means, Lakes, rivers, and Ponds any where the Masses Get together to Cool Off!!! Don't forget the Shady areas Near by the Water!!! and Logs and around them Where they Stack up there stuff!!! Serious Drop areas HH Chug
