My first pocket spill

Pocket spills are always fun to find. I have found several with my best one consisting of a 1899 barber half, a 1898 barber quarter and a 1900 barber quarter. Found them by a huge old oak tree at an old homestead. HH

Have to love those pocket spills have found a few but nothing with any old sliver, one of theses days, Congrats on your first pocket spill :headbang:

Pocket spills are strange and great no matter how big they are. My strangest was a rotten leather coin purse found in the woods that had a couple Roosevelt halfs, 5 Mercs and some wheaties. In these older parks you have to watch out for sawdust piles as at family get togethers all the uncles saved their sawdust for the kids to hunt for coins.

You know what Matt....come to think of it....about a year and 1/2 ago in my backyard with my first detector....bounty hunter. It was odd though....it was about 12 nickels...clad of course...& at least I can say I have found a pocket spill

I thought those were just rolls of Quarters I was finding, and the paper wrappers had just deteriorated from being in the ground so long. :icon_scratch:
