I have to admit, I was starting to get discouraged with my Safari. but today was too fine of a day not to get out, and so I decided to hit an old Town Hall way out in the country that's abandoned now. I got permission to hunt here months ago, but never seemed to have the motivation. I got a high flutey tone straight off the bat and dug a 1925 SLQ at about 6 inches. It was thrilling to uncover the plug and look down in the hole and see it gleaming up at me. Naturally, after that, I was raring to go, but my pinpointer was having none of it. It started wailing like a police siren, even after I took the battery out and replaced it. The Propointer is less than a year old, and barely used. I was going to call Garrett in the a.m., but when I tried it again after I got home, it seemed to be fine. Go figure. In any event, I'm thrilled with my single find and can't wait to get back there. Great quarter! Those are tough ones to find! Usally the siren is the dead battery signal, but if you do get it to garrett they will pretty much rebuild it for you and throw on a new case. I send mine always right before the warranty is out (2 yrs) ive even sent one in4 years old and hey fixed it

I never knew those SLICKS came with dates LOL:-), GREAT SAVE

Congratulations, found my first yesterday.

Awesome slq!, garrett will take care of you, great customer service

Congrats on pulling that SLQ. :occasion14: Sweet find, she has eluded my coil.

great score!!! looks like you got a date .... nice!

Nice--they are TUFF to find.

Propointer: If it has to go in for repair they are pretty cheap to fix.

How's that discouragement feeling now :notworthy:

I've had issues with my propointer as well. Is yours the orange one? The AT? Quality doesn't seem to be as good as the old black ones in my opinion.

Good job!

I had some minor probs with my pro-pointer when I first got it and Garrett was phenomenal in getting it right.

But, I also had a problem like you described once. It just wouldn't shut up! It turned out to be a small piece of foil, embedded in some dirt that was caked on the end of the pointer. It was tiny! But once I cleaned it off, back to normal. Since you said it's back to working now, maybe, you had something similar?

Big congrats on your first SLQ!! As a collector of that series, I always enjoy seeing them posted. May you find many more in the future...
