It's the start April Vacation for VT students and teachers! I was excited to get out detecting today and all week, but instead we got 1.5" snow followed by rain, rain and more rain. Being trapped inside, but still having the treasure bug, I thought I'd try my hand at coin roll hunting. I hit two banks in town and ended up with 25 rolls.

Unfortunately, I didn't find any 90%, but I did pull 6 40% silvers - '65, (3)'67, '68 and a '69. Not bad for my first swing at this.

I also pulled two proofs- the clad , not %90 - 2004 S and a 2005 S

In reading the Beginners Guide in the forum I learned that "All halves after 2001 were not made for circulation!" yet I found fifteen 2006 P half dollars, what gives?

I would keep only the best 2-3 of the NIFC and dump the rest. As to the year 2006, just a bunch someone else was saving then dumped, nothing hot about the year.

Did you check for errors? If not, doing so could open a whole new world.

Time for more coffee.

The 2006 halves most likely came from a collector who bought a roll or two and cherry picked the best of the best. Either to be graded or kept for their collection. The rest go back into the wild...

Great start btw
