I had to go to the UK on business and I managed to get 2 glorious hours of detecting on a field next to a 12th Century church. What a thrill for this Yank! I found 4 coppers (one I believe to be a KG1 farthing, another a KGIII half penny). Jury is still out on the other two. Also found a trade weight (trying to ID) and a musket ball. Below are pics.

Trade weight - from this direction I see a crown; from another I see a squirrel :icon_scratch:

I think I see a left facing bust on this! 21mm - 2.7g / 42 grain

This is the bust I'm seeing

coin-3-obverse.jpg
Possible a KGI 1717/1719 farthing - 20.5 mm - 2.3g / 36 grain. It's light but beat up

coin-2-obverse.jpg
:icon_scratch: - Measures 27.25mm - 6.2g / 96 grain.

Possibly a KGIII Half Penny

Hi Grant! On the trade weight I see a fish and a turtle--initially I thought I saw a picture of Ronald Reagan :laughing7: Don't think there's anything there, just our minds looking for a pattern--like constellations in the night sky. I'm surprised how toasted the copper coins are--the last pic is pretty clear but I can't make out the other ones. Funny how KG coppers over there are like wheat cents to us! Beep and dig detecting at it's best LOL...nice finds and congrats on your first UK hunt!

Thanks Erik. However, I should have included a measurement with that guy. It's only about an inch big.
