I found the old files from my TH'ing website (many years ago 1998). On it, I had reviews of Bounty Hunter's Discovery 1000, Discovery 3000, Time Ranger (with antenna), Land Star, and Tracker IV. So, I figured that I'd put these online on my Earthlink account and give BH users access. Here is the URL:

metal detector page

The "index of articles" has the reviews of these machines. My hope is that if you don't have a manual, you can still get some information from these articles.

Thanks, Mickey. I like it that the Internet has made it possible to document the history of metal detecting in a way that's publicly accessible.

Those reading info on older BH products need to know that there have been major changes to most models over the years even though the model name may be the same.

Thanks for your comments, Dave. I thought it would be interesting for Time Ranger users to see the older model with the antenna. Bounty Hunter has made changes for the better on most models. The Tracker IV remains the same.
