My hunting buddy and I hit an area this morning around one of the Chain of Lakes here in Central Florida. Made sense to us to try there because it's been so very dry; there's more and more land available to hunt along the shorelines. The area dates back to the early 1800's so I felt very hopeful. And I wasn't disappointed! I landed a 1908 Barber Quarter! My oldest coin, so far. Unfortunately, she's so washed out looking that I haven't been able to capture a clear photo or I'd gladly show her off! I also found 3 wheaties and a large assortment of "who knows whats" that I'm certain will find their way to the "What Is It?" section of the forum.
We hunted five hours but we're going back as soon as we can; before the rainy season hits.
Just wanted to brag a little... I've been hunting on and off for about 7 years and it took all that time for me to dig up a coin that is over 100 years old.
