I finished watering the garden and decided to hunt the yard,House ca. 1917......This is my only keeper in about ten hit's....Quit!!! Not sure the date but I can faintly see Scoville and some other wording's.Try and clean it up a little more. Pretty cool button....28mm. HH!!

civil, I believe it may be an Albert #14 (marines) which would place the date perhaps around 1890.

just thinking, it could possibly be an earlier #11 (1860's) but the stars on your's look too big to me for that.
