So, compliments of two children (many clothing sizes) and refusal to throw it away, I had my own yard sale. I actually organized a neighborhood sale to increase traffic. Well, it was the HARDEST thing I've ever had to do...watch other yard saler-s in my hood!! Any way, at least I could pick my two neighbors goods in the meantime. ;)
...when my hubby wasn't looking!

Picked up a nice green fishing chair (looks a lot like a directors chair) $5 - saved my butt from sitting on concrete all day.

They also had some Tiffany & Co. pieces. I paid $5 for the jewelry pictured. This brings me to the following inquiry - does anyone have a good reference on fakes for T&Co. pieces? I'm fairly certain that the necklace with the figure 8 charm is real (?I hope?). The other two pieces, not so sure. If all else fails, there has to be at least $5 worth of silver if they test out.

The ball necklace is not marked (only 925 on clasp).

The ball bracelet is marked 925, and has the Tiff Co mark (?).

The other necklace - figure 8 - is marked 925 different T&Co marking - the c-clasp is marked 1/20 12K (which I thought was odd)!

All of the pieces were a bit tarnished, I figured they would sell best if they were cleaned up a bit. I usually leave the cleaning to the buyer.

ASIDE - the salt, baking soda, vinegar, aluminum foil, and hot water method works WONDERS!!!

If you have a Tiffany and Co. Store near you, bring the jewelry in and ask if they will clean them. They charge $15 per item, but the receipt is certain proof that the pieces are real as they will only clean T&Co. Items.

HA I'm about to go make some jewelry soup myself, just finished packing a couple of things to ship tomorrow. I did notice that some things that were extremely tarnished came brilliantly clean almost immediately, while I've treated other items several times and they're still a little meh. Wish I knew why that was, if only all of my boil-able sterling items could look so good!

;)

I need to clean out my entire jewelry box now (except the pieces I enjoy with the added patina).

I think there is a manufacturing site in North Jersey - not sure about a retail store - I live close to King of Prussia Mall and that mall has EVERYTHING!! I'll check online.

Great idea BTW!!

I just had a Tiffany & Co. Keyring cleaned at the Tiffany's near me. Its usually $20, but the gentleman took it in the back and brought it back sparkling…and for no charge. I got it from a Goodwill grab bag for $26.00 and sold it today for $125.00! And I could have gotten more but wanted the quick turnaround. Second Tiffany item I have gotten from Goodwill in the last 3 months!

I believe they are all fakes, unfortunately.

I also think they may not be real. Take your strong magnet and go along the whole piece. Also, check the wording carefully. If it is double stamped, or too tight, it's fake. My friend gave me a "Tiffany" piece. It was magnetic in one spot. It wasn't even silver! Get this ... I took it to the consignment store, and told them a gazillion times, this is a fake. Sell it as faux tiffany. I get my check, and they sold that sucker for $127! Crazy, huh?
