Found in Putnam County, Ga.,I believe it is quartzite,if it is not please school me. Looks like it could be some sort of hafted scraper .Back side shows pecking marks and is much smoother than the rest of it, Cutting end shows secondary flaking on both side of edge.Could be used in hand but it is quite heavy so I am thinking it did more and easier work hafted. This may just be a rock but it has had mans hands on it for sure, it sure isn't pretty but because this material looks like it would be hard to make pretty, call it cute and effective. Let me know your thoughts, Thanks,Carl

It looks like it could be a type of quartz/quartzite to me, but unfortunately I do not see it being an artifact modified by humans. JMO

Looks natural to me as well. Keep looking, it's just a matter of time until you find that killer piece. Good luck!

I respect you guys opinion but with my many magnifiers and intense bright light the is piece, especially shows secondary work on the edge . If it is just natural then so be it but I am pretty sure I could haft it to a strong handle and scrap ,no problem. I do appreciate your input and learn from what you guys say. Please don't think I am arguing or whatever but if I can't recognize secondary work I should put this up and go shoot my bow! Thanks Again, HH ...Carl
