Cool Find MXTSWINGER ,

Great shape too.

Must have been lost in the 1860's or 70's

Congrats !

Very nice! Those are pretty coins, and that looks more like it was lost in early 1869, as opposed to 1868 ;D.

Wow, nice find!!! At 2" depth?? I'd say the coin was dropped a few years ago.....Just kidding.....you're so lucky to be living in an area where you can pull 1800's coins at a depth of 2". Here in Ca, a two inch coin would be a 2000's drop.

Just my 2 cents worth.... ;D

Awesome Civil War era 2 cent piece!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MXT strikes again! Good job buddy! Beautifully preserved coin! I believe you when you say you found it at 2" because I found a Indian Head at about 11/2 inches a couple of months ago on a Civil War battlesite. I think if the ground is in the right condition, the coins and relics stay really shallow. Again, THAT IS A TERRIFIC, AWESOME, GREAT find :o :o :o

This was in a cornfield, so it's probably been lying around near the surface since being plowed up who knows when. I did find the remains of the house in the woods Fri., so I'll be hitting it hard when the weeds die down.
