Title says it all, still managed to scraped up a fair bit of halves, but for the amount I went through it was probably the worst week ever in terms of averages and total skunks.
Dimes on the other hand continue to rock since last weekend. I had a similar situation like Cards n Coins had except the #'s weren't quite as huge. Last Saturday I had some great dime boxes and then again this week I kept finding boxes from the same bank with the same date code on them giving consistent returns. I went almost 10k without a skunk box in dimes which is pretty amazing!

Anyways here is the short version summary, read on for the long version with complete daily details as usual!!

I'd say that those halves boxes are not much different than those from here so don't feel bad. We just won't pull the numbers like those on the east coast. Especially since the population on the west coast was much less than that of the east back in the 60's. Nice consistancy on the dimes. Great score on the Canadian Half. I've never gotten one of those yet.

Even with results like that on that much volume, would you still continue with it? I've had many moments where skunks really question whether I should continue with CRH or not.

Been hitting the day trades on the stock market of late. Up 1.8% so far in two weeks. I only do the ETF: SLV for all those silver fans out there. No corporate downgrades or earnings misses, just pure price play. That's my new hobby. Hopefully be a millionaire by the end of 10 years. LOL

nice scores on the dimes again. Just wondering - do you have year to date totals you could post. I'm still amazed at the volume hunters like you and C&C do but the results you get explain everything. You guys are some serious CRHer's with serious results. I'm definitely learning a few things from you guys.

well ive only been keeping track since June in a very detailed way but since that time heres the stats. Keep in mind this is Dimes and Halves only. Occasionally I will get some quarters at the end of the week if my main pickup places are dry, but I don't keep track of them because its few and far between. I do some pennies through the ryedale as well but i haven't compiled all of those stats, I'll get around to it at some point.

Total Searched $175,184.50
Halves: $122,384.50
Dimes: $52,800

Total Findings
Dimes: 171, about 12 mercuries, 2 canadians, the rest being rosies
90% Halves: 89, im over 1 roll of Franklins & 1 roll of Walkers, the rest being 64's. Keep in mind some of those walkers and bens came in the March-May period which is not tracked well
40% Halves: 265, Majority of them are 67's and 68's which were the 2 highest mintages, but I have several rolls of all the other types as well

SFBay - No I am not deterred at all yet. I am going to give this a full year at "monster hunter status" and then evaluate things. So that would take me to the end of may 2012. Until then I'll be pulling down as much volume as I can. Last week was a bit overboard tho, I maxed out my cash flow pretty much every single day.

HH All,
Bigheed

Just curious, do you have to pay any fees for your boxes? I do volume like you, but am having to pay fees now at some of the banks.

nope, 1 bank got a prissy new little boy manager and wanted to start charging me fees for more than 1 box of halves and 2 b oxes of dimes per week. I said is there any fee to bring them in coin lock bags, he said nope.

As you can you deduce they quickly turned into a great dump bank.

I won't "pay to play" the only thing i'd consider paying for is $50 loose bags of pennies but I cant even find a bank to order them to save my life here in LA.

I find it amazing how you do such volume, must have an awesome set-up, hopefully some day I will get to the level that you're at now, as of January 17, I have searched a little over $17,000. Awesome week, though I think my finds would be opposite of yours, more silver halves than dimes. dimes are dry in my area, 1 silver every $500 until I gace those up. I agree with you, I do not "pay to play", when you have to pay to play this game it becomes gambling, if you do not have to pay, it is just profit. :icon_thumleft:

yep i'd much rather pay to support this forum then for boxes!

Great totals! How do you find time to search that volume?

No kids yet, i only spend ~2 hours per night on it.

My lunch hour at work = dump time, after work pickup and go home and hunt!
