Decided to detect my back yard today. I have always suspected it was a illegal construction dump before the housing addition was built back in 95. I decided to just really see if I was right. Well I only had to dig about 2 inchs when I started finding the junk. Old shingles, paint can lids, large metal pieces etc. I am going to dig to see if there is anything good there. I may not have a back yard left when I am done.

Well the way I see it, you may just dig yourself a nice outdoor pool :headbang: :laughing9:

Looks like I will have enough plastic, broken concrete and shingles for the top. Great idea just in time for the summer.

Aspestos siding and shingles may be there. You dont want to pay to dispose of that or the health risks involved in diggin it up!

You might have a legal claim against the original builder if that trash goes under your foundation. That kind of thing can lead to a subsidence and cause your foundation to sag and crack. When the wood rots you can get sinkholes, and other problems. It actually happens pretty often.
