I found this badge, in an area that has seen plenty of action over the last few hundred years. Within the city, small patches of untouched land still remain. This was found at one of them on my friend's property.

Could one of Napoleon's men have dropped this?

Keep dreaming Gio...

It's probably from an old toy. :laughing9: Has anyone seen anything similar?

I could be wrong, But i think they were made at the time of his death, or when they brought his body back to be buried in paris. Like the ones made when washington passed.A memorial badge. Let us know what you find out.

Interseting find for sure. :icon_scratch: I tried looking at Napolean "badge" and "medal" in Google and couldn't find one either.
Maybe try the "what is it" section. :dontknow:
Good luck,

Neat but looks much more like a trinket than anything meaningful.

Right on Gents... I appreciate your help. That gold and diamond one is awesome.

Like Iron Patch says... probably nothing more than a trinket. I figure a legit badge would've been of higher quality.

Regardless, it got the juices flowing briefly. :hello2:

Towards the end of Napaleons run he had become very popular abroad especially in places where people of french decent had settled. In fact at the time of his exile folks had built refuges for him to restage the french empire from all over the world such as the "napaleon house" in new orleans, and even an as of now still lost fort "champ d asile" on the texas frontier. As a result of this new found french pride napoleophilism was all the rage amongst french expats and buttons, broaches, coins, etc showing a support of napoleon were quite common, not unlike the george washington buttons we are familiar with. Seems likely that's what you found.

That could very well be the case Bell.

I'm in New Brunswick, Canada. There are many people with French heritage here.

Perhaps it was a trinket 100 years ago, but it is now a valuable relic, that Napoleon medal is in very good condition and is very beautiful, do not be put off by like objects that are better, that does not detract from its finding.
