I found out today it is a fake, I have asked the seller for my money back, I was told it was woodland period. A friend of mine mentioned it would be a good display peace for someone that has never seen one before.

If you don't mind saying what did you give for it?
I was able to get back my few dollars that I paid for it. The seller said he did not know it was fake, but that is besides the point. I will not buy any more artifacts unless I know 100 % that is real. I just spoke to another collector the other day, he mentioned that he bought a bird stone for $3500.00, it was found at a yard sale for $2.00. I know of another bird stone a farmer found on his fields, he showed it to me and I asked him if he new what it may be worth, he just said he didn't care and then he tossed it back in the small bucket with the stone points he also found on his land. These bird stones are really quite rare, I have only seen three in 10 years. I have seen pictures of others that have been found in different locations, I have only held three of them. Nt.
