Around here you would certainly see copperheads or possibly a rattlesnake. In my youth we would toss burning/smoking moss inside and catch the snakes as they came out. Of course we found at times smoke would come from a hole near by and at least once a highly POed snake would come from there with vengeance on his mind. That one was dispatched.
