last night i went to a local park here in des plaines and found the usual pocket change and other misc. but them pulled a nice 2 Reichsmark Hindenburg. I can't post pics due to missing cable to my camera but i found pics of the coin. Also mine is a 1939 A, it's in rather fine condition as well.......kinda funny how my first silver find isn't domestic currency....

very cool that you actually found one, I have one in my collection but I purchased it. The scribing on the outside rim is roughly translated to: “The common good goes before the interest of the individual.”

There were thousands and thousands of German immigrants from the turn of the century coming to America and no doubt they brought coins from Europe and visiting relatives brought them too.
