This is a pretty well made metal axe/hatchet head.

Almost too nice to be a toy.

The KENNEDY half was found in the same area.

Maybe it was a large axe at some point but then some mad scientist used his shrink ray against it! :laughing7:
 

Nice! Bet that was used for cutting red hot rout iron? I see a striking point on the back side of it, so it was made to be wacked with a hammer. This may have been a black smithing tool???? VERY NICE FIND!!!!
 

Black smiths used very small tools like this to make leafs, wheat and other designs in red hot metal objects. I would bet this was made for fine inlay and designs in rout iron work.
