Oh yea, maybe a Peedee also. This one might be small but has character. It is a great example of what the Cherokee calls the culture here, "The Near the River Dwellers." Thanks for the reply!

I think it could possibly be a reworked Halifax style point. It appears to have been notched at one stage in the game. I outlined, to the best of my ability, what I'm thinking were notches.

Not sure? I may be T- totally wrong. It's nice, nonetheless!! Good to have another NC hunter onboard here!!

Looks like a waratan to me based on others I've seen - nice NC find

I've never heard of a waratan. I'll look that up. I'm getting outta my local area and finding new places to hunt in NC also. I've been to a secondary quarry in Randolph Co. and to the Rocky River in Stanly Co. I really enjoy finding/collecting NC rhyolite. Thanks for the replies! 8-)

You may be right buddy! I shared the picture with another friend and that's what he said too! I checked the material out under a magnifying glass and intense light and it has very little patina though. I was hoping I found a Hardaway first off but after hearing all the different replies this one could be many types. So a reworked Halifax sounds possible also.

Anyone wanna try typing these NC points I found? This is my favorite frame. The Cherokee calls the cultures here "The Near the River Dwellers." This frame is a great example of the arrowheads/lithic materials used in this NW Piedmont region of NC.

I think PeeDee as well. Whatever it is, it's very nice. Love the way it was just settin' there waiting for you to come by and save it!

Your other picture has some Kirks, and maybe Stanly in there, really nice stuff. Thanks for sharing!
