Need a little help ...... Thanks

My hunting buddy and I have been hunting a Confederate battle line the last three hunts ,,,, so far , we've got close to 75 or 80 Enfields , some Marshall Texas made Minie balls and a few Union fired three ringers .... also a side plate including hammer off a rifled musket , two broken bayonets and a rifle sling J hook ........ So , I found these two items this morning ..... I think the lead piece is a sabot off a Union projectile ?? the other piece has the shape of a tampion but I am not too sure about it .... Thanks for any help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure wish someone would make a comment , one way or the other ..... are my photos not good enough for identification the knob on what could be a tampion , has a blunt force flat spot on it ... looks like it was either hit by a bullet or a hammer ....

That is a sabot and it looks like a tompion but it seems a little long. not sure. good finds!

The lead looks like the band from a Hotchkiss shell, can't tell about the other piece from the pic.

The knurled knob makes me think a valve cut-off or something along those lines.

WOW! 75-80 Enfields + the other stuff , I would love that site.

I agree , Def , a Sabot piece, & I can not nail down the Brass piece, hope you get an ID on that ASAP.
