Need an I. D.???

I found this at a 1901 home site. It is solid brass and weighs around a pound. It is hollow and it has a price of a nail at the top where it looks like it fit onto a piece of wood… This is the original shape and has not been bent in any way.

Also maybe an end Table leg base. Similar to the eagle claw with the ball in the claw.
