Cool. It seems to be the button of the cavalier of the Russian Empire, is very similar. I showed similar things also on PapersOwl Uk. I wonder how she got there. Frequently the inconspicuous old buttons can be an invaluable source of knowledge about the time in which they were made. Old buttons can differ from each other in terms of material, size, shape, weight, and symbolism. The inscriptions also have a special meaning.

Shot in the dark AGAIN.. I couldnt find anything on buttons for the union electric but the symbols match, maybe french livery .. im flying a white flag... ue.jpg :BangHead:
