Found this tooth in a creek in central MS. Any opinons regarding the type and it's age would be appreciated...
Your tooth appears to be a lower cheek tooth from an Equus sp. horse. Could be modern, could be Pleistocene.Bama Ron said:I appreciate both opinions. Anyone else, cow or fossil horse?
Would not be surprised if it was either one. I find alot of cool fossils here in central mississippi (shark teeth, sand dollars, shells, coral) I have probably close to a ton of petrified wood (literally) but I found the tooth in a creek in a rural area that consisted of small farms since the early 1900's. This creek also produces a few arrowheads each time I search it.
